How long is spring semester at UNT? ›

Student Load (Summer)

The normal load for full-time students is 12 hours for the summer term/semester. During the summer term/semester, a full-time undergraduate student with a GPA of less than 3.000 may select multiple sessions for a maximum of 18 semester hours.

On a semester system, there are two main terms in the academic year, Fall and Spring, each lasting around 15 to 17 weeks, or about four months. Schools may offer condensed Winter and Summer terms between the semesters, which may last anywhere from 3 to 12 weeks.

How long is Spring Break for colleges and universities? Spring Break typically spans about a week or two for most academic institutions. Some universities opt to grant students time off during the final week of March, followed by another break to observe Easter.

How many classes are full-time at UNT? ›

Full Time: fall, spring or summer term/semester, 12 or more hours. Three-Quarter Time: fall, spring or summer term/semester, 9 to 11 hours. Half Time: fall, spring or summer term/semester, 6 to 8 hours.

DAY DIVISION. A student enrolled in the day division may not register for more than sixteen credit hours in a fall or spring semester or for more than nine credit hours in a summer session without permission of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

The University of North Texas recognizes that student success is promoted by regular attendance and participation in class. It is the responsibility of the faculty member to notify students in writing of any special attendance requirements for the class. This policy applies to all modes of course delivery.

UNT policy requires first year undergraduate students to live on campus. A student that graduated from high school the semester prior to enrolling at UNT and is enrolled for 9 or more semester hours is subject to that policy.

A student may take a course a second or subsequent time. The Registrar's Office will post course duplications at the request of the student, at the request of an academic advisor or upon review of the student's record.

Spring semester in college typically starts in mid- to late January, right after winter break. The last day of spring semester classes generally falls in early May. Some colleges and universities enroll students for spring semester start dates. Check your school's academic calendar for exact dates.
