How to log into uva sis

To access uva sis,

1. Navigate toin.virginia.edu/sis.
2. Then click on SIS Login.
3. On the next page, you have two options of logging into uva sis.
   • Log in with your Digital Certificate.
   • Log in with your UVA computing ID and password.
4. Select option 2.
5. Enter your UVA computing ID.
6. Then enter your password associated with your student account.
7. Click on log in.

To review and/or change your UVA SIS primary name:

1. SelectMy Profilefrom the left-hand menu.
2. SelectBiographical Information.
3. YourPrimary Nameinformation will be listed under theBiographical Infotab. Review or make a change, if necessary.

Follow the options below to retrieve yourUVA SISID (7-digitnumberin the Student Information System).

• Option 1: Log in toSISand navigate toMy Profile, thenGeneral Information. Your SIS ID will be listed as yourStudent IDin theGeneral Infosection.
• Option 2: If you know and can access the account for the email address you provided on your UVA application or SIS alternate email,retrieve your UVA SISID.
• If neither of the above options work for you,contact the UVA Help Desk.

How to update your current mailing adress in uva sis

To update your current mailing address in SIS, please follow steps 1 – 6 below.

1. SelectMy Profilefrom the left-hand menu.
2. SelectContactInfo.
3. Select thepencil icon(edit) to the right of the mailing address field.
4. UpdateCountry,Address,City,State, andPostalfields as necessary.
5. ClickSaveonce all changes have been made.
6. After you have clicked onSave, a pop-upsuccess windowwill appear indicating the mailing address was updated.

Schedule Builder is a tool in uva sis that allows you to build multiple options for possible schedules for the upcoming term.

How to reset your password

There are three options for resetting your password:

• Log in to the Identity & Access Management portal(you will be required to log in with your current password or digital certificate).
• Answer security questions.
• Request a PIN sent to your recovery email or mobile number.

How to check your grades in uva sis

1. To review the final grade for each of your courses in uva sis, selectAcademicsfrom the left-hand menu.
2. SelectGrades.
3. The grade for each course will be listed under theOfficialcolumn.

What is UVA NetBadge?

NetBadge is the gatekeeper between users and websites, services, or applications at UVA that need to know and verify user identity before granting access. NetBadge isnotan ITS computing account.

It is an electronic identification “badge” issued to your Web browser when you log into UVA’s NetBadge service. NetBadge protects many UVA websites and resources, so whenever you visit one of these websites, your browser automatically presents your NetBadge to verify your identity as authorized for the protected UVA website.

How to log into Netbadge

You may log in to NetBadge using either the personal digital certificate login option (a faster, more secure method) or by typing in your UVA computing ID and password.

To use your digital certificate, click the firstloginbutton on the NetBadge login screen. Otherwise, type your UVA computing ID and password in the labeled boxes on the NetBadge login screen (Forgot your password? Reset it.) Use theLoginbutton and not theEnterkey after your password to log in.

How to Log Out of NetBadge

To prevent others from accessing your personal information and from visiting websites using your UVA NetBadge as if they were you,always fully log out of NetBadge when you are finished. To fully log out:

1. Log out of the NetBadge-protected website(s) you were using.
2. Then completely exit or quit your Web browser.

Follow the steps below to activate your uva sis account.

Step 1: Enter your access code

1. Go to theIdentity & Access Management Portal activation screen.
2. Enter your name as it was entered on your admissions or employee application.
3. Enter your Activation Code (You should have received an email with your access code):
   • Wise Students:The activation code is your Jenzabar ID.Contact the OIT Help Deskfor your Jenzabar ID.
   • Employees:The activation code was sent to the personal email address that you provided to UVA Human Resources. Contact theUVA Help Deskfor assistance.
   • Students:The activation code is your SIS ID.Find your SIS ID.
4. Enter your birthdate in a mm/dd/yyyy format.
5. ClickSubmit.

Step 2: Accept terms of use

You are required to accept the Electronic Access Agreement, the University’s Terms of Use to move forward to Step 3.

1. Click the link provided to review UVA’sIRM-002 policy.
2. ClickAccept.

Step 3: Set up 2-step login (Duo) (non-applicants)

As a member of the UVA community, you will use 2-Step Login (Duo) to log in to many UVA systems. During the account activation process:

1. Faculty, staff, and sponsored accounts are required to set up Duo.
2. Students can complete or temporarily skip Duo setup — VisitAdd or Update Devices for 2-Step Login (Duo)for more information about completing setup at a later date.
3. Applicants will not see this step.

Step 4: View your computing ID

1. Take note of your UVA computing ID.
   A UVA computing ID is a username that is assigned to all students, faculty, staff, and sponsored accounts. Use your computing ID to log in via NetBadge to UVA systems and services including UVA Email, Student Information System (SIS), Workday, UVACollab, UVABox, etc.
2. ClickNext.

Step 5:Set up security questions

If you forget your password, you will reset it by answering the security questions you set up now.

1. Create your own security questions. Make sure the questions are of a personal nature and the answers are not widely known. Sample security questions are:
   • What was your high school mascot?
   • What was the house number and street name you had as a child?
   • What was your grandmother’s maiden name on your mother’s side?
2. Click onShow Answersto view your answer as you type.
3. Retype your answer to confirm the answer.
4. ClickSubmit.(Once you have entered your questions and answers, theSubmitbutton will be enabled).

Step 6:Update your personal information

1. Review the information that displays in the form fields.
2. If changes are needed:
   • Update your preferred name.
   • Update your mobile phone number and non-UVA email address. You may use these to reset your password in the future.
   • ClickSubmit.
3. If no changes are needed, clickSkip.

Step 7:Create your uva password

1. View the passwords rules on the right-hand side of the page.
2. Enter a password that meets the password rules.
3. ClickReset Password.
4. Your account has been activated.

UVA Collab

UVA Collab is the centrally-supported online collaboration and learning environment (CLE) at the University of Virginia based on the Sakai learning management system.

The system is the University of Virginia’s central online environment for teaching, learning, collaboration, and research.

UVA students and faculty use UVACollab to create and use collaboration sites and/or course sites to facilitate class members, project teams, or research groups, engage in interactive discussions, join virtual meetings, securely store and share materials, and much more.

How to log into uva collab

To use or access uva collab,

1. Navigate tocollab.its.virginia.eduon your web browser.
2. On your top right, click on “UVA Login”
3. Select option 2 to log in.
4. Enter yourUVA computing ID.
5. Enter your password.
6. Click “Login” to access yourUVA SIS dashboard.
7. Access your courses on collab.

How to view your courses in uva collab

The My Courses tool is displayed on the Overview page of your Homesite. My Courses includes a folder for each semester when you are officially enrolled in a course in the Student Information System (SIS).

Within each folder is a list of the semester’s course rosters in which you are enrolled as a student.

Corresponding links to existing UVACollab course sites also appear in My Courses for quick access to these sites.

My Courses appears in the upper-right column of the Overview page in your Homesite.

To view the courses you are teaching (instructor) or courses you are taking (students):

• Select the semester you want to view, e.g., Spring, 2024.
• The Roster column displays all of your rosters for the selected semester based on the latest course data from SIS.
• The UVa Collab Site (if created) column displays links to course sites associated with a roster. Select the site title link to go to that course site.
• If no site is listed in the UVa Collab Site column, this usually means that the instructor has not yet created a site or has not yet associated a corresponding enrollment roster with the site.
