What is the best way to mine in Portia? ›

It is recommended to use a Bronze Pickaxe on medium rocks if under level 15 and an Iron Pickaxe on large rocks if under level 20, but large rocks can be mined with even a basic Pickaxe if the player's passive Attack stat is high enough.

The bottom line is that My Time at Portia balances out to be an enjoyable farming/life sim game as the dull writing and storyline is propped up by fun crafting and exploration mechanics. If you're a fan of the genre for the interpersonal relationships and storylines, look elsewhere.

Portia felt way too grindy for me. I guess in a way Sandrock is also grindy but it's a million times more tolerable. Materials are much easier to come by and crafting is a lot more streamlined.
